Thank you for shopping at Puratan Leathers. We take pride in the exceptional craftsmanship of our handmade paper leather journals, diaries, genuine leather bags, and accessories.

Because our products are individually handcrafted by skilled artisans in Jaipur, India, using natural materials, we have established a fair and transparent Return & Refund Policy.

Please read these guidelines carefully before making a purchase.


1. Natural Handmade Characteristics (Important)

Before requesting a return, please remember:

  • Genuine Leather: Natural marks, subtle color variations, range marks, scars, and texture differences are proof of authentic leather. These are natural characteristics and are not considered defects.

  • Handmade Cotton Paper: Our papers are made from 100% recycled cotton. Variations in thickness, shade, and deckle edges are natural features of traditional handmade paper.

  • Color Variations: Slight differences in color may occur due to lighting, photography, or dye batch variations.


2. Return Eligibility

We offer a 14-day return window from the date your order is marked as delivered.

To be eligible for a return:

  • Item must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition

  • Must be returned in original packaging (tags, dust bags, cards included)

  • Proof of purchase is required


3. Non-Returnable & Non-Refundable Items

The following items are strictly non-returnable:

  • Custom & Personalized Orders: All custom-made and personalized products are final and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund under any circumstances

  • Custom Orders (General): Any product made as per specific buyer requirements, including logo embossing, custom sizing, or bespoke designs, cannot be refunded once confirmed

  • Sale / Clearance Items: Items purchased under clearance or final sale are non-returnable

  • Gift Cards: All gift cards are non-refundable


4. How to Initiate a Return

If you wish to request a return:

  1. Contact us within 14 days of delivery at sales@puratanleathers.com

  2. Provide your Order Number, Product Name, and Reason for Return

  3. Attach clear photos if the item is damaged or defective

  4. Once approved, we will share the return address in Jaipur, India

  5. Do not send items without authorization, or they will not be processed


5. Return Shipping Costs

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or incorrect

  • Any customs duties or import taxes for returned goods are also the customer’s responsibility

  • We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service (DHL/FedEx/UPS)

  • We are not responsible for lost or damaged return shipments

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable


6. Refund Processing

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  1. You will receive an email confirmation of receipt

  2. We will notify you of approval or rejection of the refund

  3. If approved, refunds are processed within 7–10 business days to your original payment method

Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received your refund:

  • Check your bank or PayPal account

  • Contact your card provider (processing may take time)

  • Contact your bank for pending postings

7. Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged upon arrival.
To request an exchange, email us with photos of the product and packaging.


8. Order Cancellation

  • Regular Orders: Can be cancelled within 24 hours if not shipped

  • Custom Orders: Cannot be cancelled once production has started (usually within 12 hours)
